“I am very excited about working together to provide learning opportunities for communities in Wakiso, Uganda. Not only will they provide access to learning for the children, but also training of life skills for adults in the area. Training will be at the centre of the community providing education and a social focal point.
I was previously a full time teacher in South Gloucestershire and having spent the summers working in schools in the Kampala area since 2013, I have seen how hard teachers and children strive to make the most of their situation lacking in resources and struggling to pay tuition fees.
Witnessing the difficulties facing both teachers and students during an evening class for children studying by candlelight, that later also had to walk a few miles home, motivated me to establish this charity in order to improve access to education in villages.”

“My involvement with this charity came following two of my children traveling to Uganda through their school and working in a school Kampala. When I was asked to get involved in a charity to provide the opportunity of education to another group of children I jumped at the chance.
There is much to be done to help others around the world and this is an opportunity for me to play my part. I am an accountant by profession hope to use these skills to complement the more practical teaching skills of others in the team.”
Trustee: Jacob Horn
“I joined this charity having heard about the difficulties facing both children accessing learning and teachers delivering an education with minimal or no resources including the lack of school buildings in many village areas of Uganda.
I work part time in the animal care industry and volunteer with animal conservation projects as well as for this charity.”

“I am a lawyer in Kampala and as part of this charity, I am excited to be able to support and protect the charity’s funds and efforts to aid children’s access to education here in Uganda. I am happy and passionate to work with Promise of Education Uganda and to me, this is an answered prayer. Previously, I have been part of different private institutions (NGOs, Local CBOs, companies etc), children and youth teams/ groups for instance Sunday school and youth dance teams with the main aim to develop talents and impacting lives. But it should be noted that promise of Education has a very special place to me why? The vision is so clear and I feel so connected to it. I love working with children and young people and I also believe every child has a right to education (clean and safe environment where to study from), clean water, good health, freedom of expression and socialisation with others etc.
Education is so important most especially in Third world countries for instance Uganda and I love the fact that as promise of Education we are stepping forward to eradicate the problem and help by providing a centre (building a school in Gombe as the first targeted area), supporting children in the community, impacting their lives and providing them with skills in different fields hence equipping them to become responsible citizens, thus giving hope to the hopeless.
It’s sad to see children not going to school, mistreated, abused, drink unsafe water, miss meals or even go without meals among others.
As a leader and partly a teacher I’m excited about promise of Education projects, therefore the sky is the limit. I see us achieving the organisations plans and being part of the big solution to some of the challenges and problems faced by children and the young people.”
