Visit to Mityana Public Primary School

August 2024

Promise visited the school to visit an old friend Teacher Mukasa Godfrey and was pleased to be welcomed by the Headteacher and Governors. A taster session about sack gardening (part of the Inspire Project Agricultural Training) was presented to the children of P6 and dates are to be set to return with the full training project.

Promise is keen to present its training to schools to promote agriculture amongst the next generation.

Presenting sack gardening to the next generation

April 2024

Promise has been busy preparing sessions for farming poultry, goats and fish for its new project Ignite.

It has also been revisiting its students from the Inspire Project to observe how the training has impacted their farming practice, as well as provide additional support and answer queries.

Promise is now facing difficulty replacing the tired vehicle used to deliver the training in rural communities. A replacement is required in order to continue delivering the free training. If you feel able to financially help with this, please give what you can via our “Give” page or click here.

Thank you to our team

I wish to say a personal thank you for such an amazing, giving and supportive team who share a passion for helping others – they give their time, knowledge and expertise freely. Thank you Makaka Vestar for managing us all.  For seeking the contacts, your key organisation and follow-up skills and for getting us to the right place at the right time!

Thank you Luyima Ponsiano and Mgwali James for sharing your wealth of knowledge and expertise and Ivvan for your encouragement and prayers during this visit.

The dedication of this team is beyond words – THANK YOU

Promise Spirit FM Partnership

On the 11th August 2023, Promise representatives, Makaka Vestar and Melanie Horn, met with the Director of Spirit FM, Tim Sabiti in Kampala to discuss the possibility of partnering each other on a project  to create a TV broadcast combining agricultural training with praise and worship to reach and benefit a wider audience.  The outcome of the meeting was favourable and further discussions between the creative teams are set for September.
